Although I have been a Weight Watchers member off and on for many years, I truly believe the new
Beyond the Scale program is going to be a shift in my mindset about what goals I have for myself. After attending my regular meeting yesterday, and learning about the new dynamics of the program, I really feel I need to focus on what makes me feel proud of myself. Too often, I set goals for myself like I ask students to set goals. Specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-oriented. But many times that "pigeonholes" me into only looking at numbers. Pounds, length of time exercised, inches, and dress size are common goals I have set for myself in the past. With the new program I will continue to try and set those types of goals, but I also want to focus on less specific goals that help me to feel like a better me. So here goes my first week on the new Weight Watchers program, and the first day of the "new me plan"!
My Goals for Week 1 - December 9th-17th
- Food Goals
- Track my food daily. (Even if I don't want to!)
- Eat a fruit & vegetable everyday.
- Fitness Goals
- Reach my 50 FitPoints goal for the week.
- Have at least 30 active minutes, 3 times this week.
- Me Goals
- Read a non-school related book for 30 minutes nightly.
- Work on talking with my children, rather than AT my children.
Oh yea...and find time to shop & wrap all of my Christmas gifts before my 3 children think there are no presents this Christmas!!
